(Fremont County, WY) – During the Lander Brewfest, Fremont County’s multi-agency impaired driving enforcement operation resulted in 269 traffic stops, six impaired driving arrests, and 102 speeding citations.

The Fremont County DUI Task Force prioritizes impaired driving, but officers, deputies, and troopers issued 23 citations for other offenses and made nine arrests, including two for possession of a controlled substance, during the June 13-14 raid.

Over the course of the two-day operation, the task force issued 98 warnings and three seat belt citations.

There were no fatalities from impaired driving during the operation.

During five enforcement operations in 2025, the Fremont County DUI Task Force arrested 34 impaired drivers, cited 427 for speeding, and conducted 1,534 traffic stops.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, and the police departments of Lander, Riverton, Shoshoni, Dubois, and Wind River make up the Fremont County DUI task force.

SafeRide provided a record-breaking 306 rides during the event’s 19 operational hours in Lander, representing a 46 percent increase over 2024.

The Cheyenne Police Department’s DUI command vehicle was also deployed throughout Fremont County to assist the task force.

The Fremont County DUI Task Force aims to reduce fatal crashes by enforcing impaired driving and seat belt laws.

These enforcement efforts are supported by a media campaign emphasizing law enforcement’s zero-tolerance policy toward impaired driving and commitment to seat belt enforcement.

The Fremont County DUI Task Force suggests safe alternatives to drinking and driving.
