CHEYENNE — Laramie County Sheriff’s Office investigators are still on the scene of a fatal early morning shooting that killed one person in a mobile home park just south of town.

Sheriff Brian Kozak confirmed to Cowboy State Daily that “this is a homicide investigation,” and that additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.

He also stated that there appears to be no threat to the public and that two potential suspects have been apprehended. He declined to identify them at this point in the investigation.

The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office is trying to figure out what happened in that mobile home early Friday morning.

At around 12:15 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a person injured. According to the initial report, the call was “concerning an injured individual” in the West Winds mobile home park at 505 Williams St.

“Deputies arrived to find one person had been shot,” the agency writes in a follow-up report. “We are saddened to report that they have succombed to their injuries.”

The names of those killed will not be released until the Laramie County Coroner notifies the next of kin.

Later Friday morning, lot 145 of the park, with its yellow ochre single-wide trailer, was surrounded by crime scene tape. Outside, there are several vehicles and investigators, including a truck from the Laramie County Coroner’s Office.

Also, an office technician with a camera was seen entering and exiting the trailer.
