Honoring Heroes: Wyoming Troop A Pays Tribute to Fallen Troopers Lost in the Line of Duty

BATAVIA, N.Y. — On Tuesday, Wyoming’s Troop A joined in a solemn ceremony at the State Police Troop A Headquarters in Batavia to honor troopers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The memorial paid heartfelt tribute to dozens of fallen heroes who bravely served their communities with courage and dedication.

“We gather today to remember the bravery and sacrifice of those who gave everything in service to the people they protected,” said NYS Police Public Information Officer Trooper James O’Callaghan.

Family members, loved ones, and fellow officers came together to reflect, share memories, and express gratitude for these courageous men and women.

“Today’s ceremony honors our fallen members, whose names are forever etched on the monument behind me,” said Major Amie P. Feroleto, Troop A Commander. “We hold this event near May 15, the date designated by President John F. Kennedy as National Peace Officers Memorial Day—a powerful reminder that our safety and freedom come at the cost of sacrifice.”

Each trooper’s name was read aloud with reverence, serving as a poignant reminder of the risks and ultimate sacrifice that come with serving in law enforcement, including those who have served in Wyoming’s Troop A.
