The Historic Saddle Club’s Open Horse Shows, set for Saturday June 24th and Sunday July 9th, were cancelled due to the rain winning out. The last rainout Horse Show will be a schooling show on October 7th, more information to follow.
You must sign-up on line at Historicsaddleclub.wildapricot.org by 5pm the day prior!
Sorting, Tracking, and Roping Practices are being held until Mid October, weather permitting. Big Thanks to Pinnacle Bank of Mitchell for donating funds for the cattle! We are planning more practices before and after our sorts, ropings, and events. Please keep an eye on FaceBook and wildapricot FMI.
September 1st the Historic Saddle Club hosted our final 2023 Ranch Sort Clinics and Competition. Labor Day weekend held beautiful weather and Dr Van Anne Mobile Vet sponsored the two-day series along with Cold Rush, and Greeley Hat Works. County Corner Stores sponsored beautiful buckles. Buckles were awarded to the fastest average cattle sorting winners in each category Youth, Novice, Rancher, and Open. Additional thanks to American National Insurance for the added money for our Rancher and Open Jackpots!
The Club hosted five gymkhana’s and have managed to duck the rain. Events include our standard Poles and Barrels along with two changing fun events each month. Past special events have included the Ride & Lead, Keyhole, Egg & Spoon, and the Sack Race. Dr Van Anne sponsored prizes for the winners of one of the four events to be selected at random prior to each Gymkhana. Hi-way 92 and Dairy King coupons were presented to the Special Event winners! Keep this in mind and come play in all four events offered!
Our Final Gymkhana will include a Horse-o-ween costume contest! Come join us and enjoy a horsey afternoon!
