I have another clip upstairs': Woman who injected herself into friend's turmoil was desperate to discharge her gun after boyfriend took her ammunition away, according to police

A Wyoming woman who became involved in her friend’s personal problems allegedly shot at another woman — and was reportedly determined to fire her weapon.

Rylie Woolson, 25, was arrested by the Casper Police Department on May 29 after being involved in a domestic dispute with a friend that allegedly ended in gunfire.

According to an affidavit obtained by local news outlet Oil City News, an argument between two unnamed women was taking place in a courtyard on the property of a Casper, Wyoming apartment complex — one of the women lived there, and the other was reportedly having an affair with that woman’s husband.

Woolson, who also lived at the complex, was reportedly friends with the betrayed wife and, according to police, chose to participate in the fight.

According to the affidavit, Woolson’s boyfriend, Brent Sanborn, whose age was not disclosed, informed her about the fight and advised her to go check on her friend. He told police that the argument “threw up a red flag” for her, but he cautioned her not to get involved.

Despite this, witnesses told police that Woolson emerged from her apartment wielding a handgun, approached the two women, and allegedly pointed the gun at the woman involved in the apparent affair.

That woman told police she grabbed Woolson’s arm, causing a struggle for control of the gun. When she realized the gun was pointed at her stomach, she told police she heard a clicking sound.

According to the affidavit, others intervened to remove the gun from the fray, and Sanborn eventually gained control of the weapon and ejected the clip. Woolson then allegedly said, “That’s okay, I have another clip upstairs.”

Woolson exited the scene for her apartment. Witnesses claimed that the next time she was seen, she fired at the apparent mistress from the balcony. The woman was unharmed, but Woolson’s friend was reportedly struck by shrapnel. Police discovered a mark in the concrete and bullet fragments on the scene.

Woolson, who had allegedly fired her weapon, gathered her two children and another three children she had been watching and drove away with Sanborn. Both were apprehended by police at a nearby shopping mall.

Woolson was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery and posted a $25,000 bond.

During her court appearance on May 30, she reportedly informed the judge that she was suffering from mental health issues. According to the affidavit, Woolson told a detective that she hoped her friend would reciprocate.

The woman Woolson was allegedly aiming at was unharmed. Woolson and Sanborn had been caring for five children when they were taken into protective custody.

Sanborn was charged with violating a protection order and was issued a $2,500 cash or surety bond.
