(Riverton, WY) – A 17-year-old Riverton boy was arrested for reckless driving in connection with an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of September 5, according to the Riverton Police Department call log.

According to the report, around 12:21 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a white truck driving northbound in the 400 block of North Federal at 70 mph in a 30 mph zone.

The vehicle pursued until eventually yielding and pulling over in a parking lot on the 1700 block of North Federal.

As the officer approached the truck, it took off again, resulting in another chase in Riverton’s northeast area.

The driver eventually yielded again and was identified as a 17-year-old Riverton boy.

The subject was eventually arrested for reckless driving, during which he stated, “I don’t know why I did it” and “I like to go fast,” according to the RPD call log narrative.

The subject’s identity was not disclosed in the report.
