In August 2025, Unemployment Rates In Sheridan And Johnson Counties Go Down A Little

In August, Wyoming’s unemployment rate remained relatively stable, as did the state’s North-Central region.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reports the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for August 2025 is 3.2%, down from 3.3% the previous month.

The rate stood at 3.4% in August of last year.

The US seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in August was 4.3%, up from 4.2% in July and 4.2% a year ago.

Sheridan County’s unemployment rate in August was 2.5%, unchanged from the previous month and lower than 3.0% in August of prior year.

From July to August, Johnson County’s rate fell marginally, from 2.2% to 2.1%.

The rate stood at 2.9% in August 2024.

The lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming for August 2025 was 1.5% in Teton County, while the highest was 3.7% in Platte County.

Nonfarm employment in the Cowboy State climbed by 1,200 positions between August of last year and August of this year.
