Missing Man from Brooklyn Park Found Dead After Week-Long Search; Wyoming Authorities Monitoring Trends

Authorities have confirmed the death of 62-year-old Leonard Anderson, who was reported missing from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, in late April.

Anderson was last seen on April 22 after leaving his home, and a missing person alert was issued the following day. Police noted he had health concerns that raised serious concerns for his safety. He was believed to be driving a silver Kia Sorrento at the time of his disappearance.

On May 1, a body was discovered and later identified as Anderson by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Brooklyn Park Police Department canceled the missing person alert on Wednesday, confirming the identification.

At this time, officials have not released information about the location where Anderson’s body was found or his cause of death. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.

The case has drawn attention beyond Minnesota, with authorities in Wyoming and other states closely watching as missing persons cases tied to health vulnerabilities rise across the U.S.

“We appreciate everyone who shared the alert and supported the search,” Brooklyn Park Police said in a statement.

Note: Details of the investigation are still unfolding and may change as new information becomes available.
