On Saturday, August 23, the governor directs that the Wyoming flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol and in Natrona County

Cheyenne, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon has directed that the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Natrona County from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, August 23, in honor and memory of Gail Zimmerman.

Mr. Zimmerman represented Natrona County in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1985 to 1988, and the Wyoming Senate from 1989 to 1998, where he served as Chairman of the Senate Education Committee from 1993 to 1998. He passed away on July 30, 2025.

Please keep in mind that this notice only applies to the Wyoming State Flag and is displayed in two locations in the state: the Capitol Building and Natrona County. Other flags should remain at full staff.
