OHIO — According to authorities, a 17-year-old Spencerville resident died early Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash.

Shawnee Township police responded shortly after 4 a.m. to the 5100 block of State Route 117, where investigators say Owen Conley was driving a 2008 Honda Accord westbound when he veered off the road, collided with an embankment and a tree, and overturned. Conley was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to authorities, Conley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and alcohol is suspected to have played some role.

The incident is still under investigation.
