Bruce Low, who was charged with running a dog fighting ring last year, was charged with numerous drug offenses after being discovered to be in possession of large amounts of opioids, morphine, and other drug paraphernalia, Attorney General Matthew Platkin announced.
Customs and Border Patrol discovered six kilograms of Tapentadol in a package shipped to Low’s address from India, prompting an investigation, according to Platkin. On Monday, June 9, law enforcement conducted a controlled delivery of the package prior to executing a search warrant.
According to Platkin, Low’s home contained items consistent with drug manufacturing, such as grinders, mixers, pressing equipment, cutting agents, scales, packages, and US currency.
According to Platkin, he faces charges of maintaining/operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Following a raid on Low’s dog fighting ring in April 2024, more than 100 abused dogs were rescued, and several people were arrested. Low was released from federal prison in 2018 after serving 12 years on drug charges.
In 2023, investigators claim Low staged 61 dog fights. The charges remain pending.
