People like bizarre things': Man drives over woman with SUV after she refused to let him sniff her feet, police say

A rendezvous at a Florida hotel turned violent when a man ran over a woman who refused to let him smell her feet, according to police.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on August 24 at the Serena Hotel in Aventura, approximately 20 miles north of Miami, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit. The victim told cops she met a man named Elmoncy Sercle on the dating app Seeking, and they agreed to meet at the hotel.

When Sercle, 28, entered the room, she allegedly asked to smell her feet and purchase her used shoes.

According to the affidavit, the victim informed Sercle that she would charge him $1,000 because she is a foot model and that is her going rate.

She told him that the sneakers were in her car and that she needed to go get them, and she allegedly stated that she went to the restroom and saw Sercle leave the room. According to the affidavit, the victim chased him to the parking garage after believing he had stolen something from her.

When she arrived, she saw him in a red Mercedes SUV. He allegedly passed her, came to a stop, made a three-point turn, and ran over the victim. She had road rash and bruising on her back, arms, and chest, which necessitated “immediate medical attention,” police said.

Sercle allegedly fled the scene but was later arrested for aggravated battery.

WPLG, a local independent station, interviewed the victim.

“When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet, which made me uncomfortable,” she told the TV station. “I mean, you could take my sneakers all you want. I don’t care. I am not wearing them. And they’re just stinky old sneakers. “But people enjoy strange things.”

She described the incident as “extremely bizarre.”

“I’ve never experienced anything like this before,” she told the TV station. “I’ve met a lot of people who have foot fetishes, obviously, and nobody has ever done anything to this caliber.”

But she’s grateful she survived.

“By the grace of God, I’m still standing today,” she told me.

Sercle has bonded out of jail and is scheduled to appear in court on September 29.

According to cops, Sercle has several other open cases in Miami-Dade County for allegedly meeting women on dating apps, booking a hotel, and then robbing them of their belongings.
