PLYMOUTH — A 16-year-old boy linked to a Bloods street gang faction was arraigned Thursday afternoon on multiple charges after allegedly firing shots at two males in a passing vehicle earlier this month.
Shauntique Haskins, who lives on Center Avenue, appeared before Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough. He faces four counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, and throwing missiles into an occupied vehicle or roadway. Additionally, he is charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of harassment, and one count each of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm by a minor, and disorderly conduct.
Judge Vough ordered Haskins held without bail, citing him as a danger to the community.
According to court records, police say the incident happened near West Shawnee Avenue and Academy Street around 4:30 p.m. on May 8. Haskins reportedly knew the two males in the Toyota, who had pulled up in the area.
One of the males gestured toward Haskins, who then pulled a handgun from a backpack and fired several shots at the vehicle as it turned onto Academy Street. Several bullets shattered the car’s rear windshield.
State police forensic officers recovered four spent shell casings at the scene.
Court documents also describe Haskins as “well known” to Plymouth police as a violent gang member affiliated with EBK, or “Everybody Killa,” a faction linked to the Bloods gang.
