Police have found Austin Robert Drummond’s car, the murder suspect who is still at large after allegedly killing four family members in Tennessee and abandoning a 7-month-old baby girl in a front yard.
Drummond’s car was found in Jackson, Tenn., more than an hour away from Tiptonville, where his four alleged victims were discovered, according to a Dyer County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) “alert” posted on Facebook on Friday, Aug. 1.
“The Jackson Police Department has located Austin Drummond’s vehicle in the woods near the end of MCO Road. “It appears that he has been living in the vehicle and may be in the area,” the DCSO reported.
“JPD asks all people within the immediate area of this alert, to lock their doors and stay indoors as we actively search for Drummond,” the notification advised. “Remember that he is armed and extremely dangerous. If you see him, please call 911 immediately. Don’t approach the suspect.
On Saturday, August 2, the Jackson Police Department (JPD) reported that Drummond was still at large. In a Facebook update, they advised residents to exercise “elevated caution.”
“Please travel with caution and remain vigilant. Residents are advised to lock their doors and remain vigilant, as the suspect’s current location is unknown,” the police department stated. “Immediately report any sightings to 911. Residents may continue their daily routines with increased caution.”
Drummond’s vehicle was discovered in Jackson, as more information about his background and four alleged victims has surfaced.
Drummond is wanted on first-degree murder, kidnapping, and firearm possession charges in connection with the deaths of Adrianna Williams, 20, James M. Wilson, 21, Cortney Rose, 38, and Braydon Williams, 15, who were discovered murdered on Carrington Road in Tiptonville.
The abandoned infant’s mother, father, grandmother, and uncle have been identified, and according to Fox News, they are all family members of Drummond’s current girlfriend.
According to the outlet, Drummond was on bond at the time of the alleged quadruple murder for allegedly attempting to kill someone while in prison in December 2024. He was imprisoned for robbing a convenience store at the age of 16 and threatening jurors, according to the Associated Press.
On the evening of July 29, around 10:26 p.m. local time, a 911 call was placed reporting that Cortney Rose and her daughter, Adrianna Williams, were missing.
Later that night, the DCSO reported that four people had been found dead in Lake County, Tenn., about 25 miles north of Dyer County. The bodies were discovered hours after the infant was abandoned.
At 3:11 p.m., the DCSO “received a call regarding a concerning incident on Old Highway 20 near the Tigrett area [in Dyer County],” according to the agency’s Facebook page. “A dark-colored minivan or a white mid-size SUV was reported to have dropped off an infant in a car seat at a random individual’s front yard.”
“Thankfully a witness saw the car seat with the child and called 911,” the district attorney’s office stated.
According to Stephen Sutton, a spokesperson for the LaPolice Say Alleged Tenn. Quadruple Murder Suspect Is “Armed and Extremely Dangerous” after Finding His Car Emptyke and Dyer County Sheriffs, the baby is now safe.
