A Bronx tattoo parlor owner allegedly kidnapped his teenage mistress and brought her back to his Westchester home, where he, his wife, and their babysitter all beat the girl, prosecutors said Monday.
Wayne and Jasmine Barnes of Hartsdale, as well as their children’s babysitter, Lizbeth Cerrato-Sanchez, were indicted on July 9 in connection with the violent May 16 abduction and assault of the 19-year-old victim who worked at the tattoo shop, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
“The level of depravity shown by the defendants in this case is astonishing,” District Attorney Susan Cacace said in a statement.
According to the prosecutor, the shocking kidnapping began when Wayne Barnes, 44, the owner of Sons of Ink tattoo parlor, and his teen employee, with whom he was romantically involved, got into an argument in his car on his way to drop her off at her Queens home.
The tattoo artist allegedly pushed the teen out onto the side of the Grand Central Parkway.
He eventually let her back into the car, but then started hitting her with an expandable metal baton, according to the DA.
Wayne Barnes then returned to the Bronx to pick up his 42-year-old wife while continuing to beat the teen, according to prosecutors.
The Barneses arrived at their Hartsdale home and dragged the victim inside to continue their attack, according to the district attorney’s office.
The twisted pair allegedly took the girl’s phone, preventing her from calling for help.
Then, Jasmine Barnes allegedly pushed the teen employee down a flight of stairs while pulling her hair and hitting her with a metal baton, all while the couple’s children were present, according to the DA’s office.
Cerrato-Sanchez, a 19-year-old nanny, allegedly slugged the victim in the face while the wife continued to strike her with the baton.
The victim was eventually given her phone back and changed into clean clothes before being allowed to call an Uber and flee, according to prosecutors.
The next day, she went to the hospital for treatment and called Greenburgh police to report the assault. Four days later, the three defendants were arrested.
Wayne and Jasmine Barnes were both charged with a slew of crimes, including kidnapping, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, and the wife is also facing a number of charges in the Bronx. They both pleaded not guilty.
Stephen Riebling, Jasmine Barnes’ lawyer, stated that he and his client were “somewhat shocked by the wild accusations” and “we look forward to the day, hopefully sooner than later, when she is vindicated and free of these charges.”
The Post has requested a response from Westchester Legal Aid, which represents Wayne Barnes.
Cerrato-Sanchez of Yonkers was charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Although no attorney was listed for her, she pleaded not guilty to the charges.
