RMBA Ranch Horse Competition Results & News

Fall is falling around us and the Rocky Mountain Breeders Association (RMBA) closed the curtain on the
final Ranch Horse Competition of the season. Just because the calendar changes doesn’t mean association activities are done for the year.

Up next on the calendar is the Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Banquet. If you’ve not been able to make other activities of the association, the Annual Membership Meeting is the only in-person meeting held each year. This is where members can weigh in on all relevant topics that make the RMBA run. Events, programs, and committees, along with having a chance to vote and/or make recommendations for the upcoming year.

This year’s meeting and banquet is set for November 4th, 2023, starting at 1 PM. Let’s hope for good weather and roads – any weather-related changes will be posted on the RMBA Facebook page and through e-blasts just ahead. Following the Annual Membership Meeting is the Awards Banquet. There is special recognition for the High Selling Stallion Service Auction service – this year is a tie between two stallions, Dual Red Hot and Roll Your Nickles; the Edgar Icenoggle memorial Top Hand Award that goes to a deserving competitor in the ranch horse series; plus awards presented for the eligible classes from the same series. Cheer on friends and family; let’s celebrate!

Have friends or family you’d like to introduce to the RMBA, this is a good event to bring them along. It’s potluck again for this year. Everyone will need to RSVP so we know how many to plan for. The RMBA provides meat and non-alcoholic drinks. It is BYOB. Keep an eye on your email for the e-blast containing the information. A hard copy mailing with multiple items will go out, too.

Here are your show results for the final Ranch Horse Competition of 2023. The August 26-27 show was held at the Saddle Peak Equestrian Center outside of Belgrade, Montana. Tye MacDonald was the judge for the Rein & Cow Work, in addition to Ranch Riding. Katie Lynn Kraus judged the Trail segment.
