In one of the largest overnight strikes since the war began, Russia launched 614 drones, ballistic and cruise missiles across Ukraine, killing one, injuring dozens, and destroying an American-owned electronics company less than an hour from two NATO borders, officials confirmed Thursday morning.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksyy said the strike on the private US company, which used “several” cruise missiles, was “very telling” in light of President Donald Trump’s attempts to force Moscow to end its invasion.
“Last night, the Russian army set one of its insane anti-records,” Zelenskyy told the press. “They targeted civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and our citizens.
“Several cruise missiles were lobbed against an American-owned enterprise in Zakarpattia,” he continued, describing the organization as “a regular civilian business, supported by American investment, producing everyday items like coffee machines.”
“However, it was also a target for the Russians. “This is very telling,” Zelenskyy said.
Flex Ltd., an American company with corporate headquarters in Austin, Texas but business locations all over the world, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the facility only manufactures civilian consumer products.
“This facility does not produce, supply, or support any military equipment or defense-related components,” the company’s spokesperson explained.
Following the attack, the spokesperson stated that “emergency protocols were executed” and that the site was completely evacuated.
“A few employees and contractors were injured, and six individuals remain in hospital and are receiving medical care,” said a spokesperson. “We are providing them and their families all necessary support during this difficult time.”
The spokesperson confirmed that the extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The strike on the city of Mukachevo in the Zakarpattia region, which is only 30 miles from two NATO nations, Hungary and Slovakia, appears to have injured 15 people.
Flex Ltd did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s inquiries.
The overnight strike, which included 574 drones and 40 missiles, targeted numerous locations throughout Ukraine.
The White House also did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s questions about the president’s reaction to the strike against a US company, though he did say on Tuesday that “it’s possible that [Putin] doesn’t want to make a deal.”
“We’re going to find out about President Putin in the next couple of weeks,” he told reporters.
NATO leaders have repeatedly questioned Putin’s willingness to engage in good-faith negotiations, as well as his desire to end his war ambitions, questions that remain unanswered despite Trump’s in-person meeting with the Kremlin chief in Alaska on Friday.
France, which has emerged as a key supporter of Ukraine, reiterated this point on Thursday, telling Fox News Digital that despite Russian claims that they are “ready to negotiate,” the overnight strikes suggest the opposite.
“These attacks, the most massive in a month, demonstrate Russia’s lack of genuine intent to engage seriously in peace talks,” a spokesperson for the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs told Fox News Digital.
“France reiterates its support for President Trump’s initiative in favor of a just and lasting peace and will continue to work with determination alongside Ukraine and its partners,” a spokesperson told reporters.
