For people who get monthly payments from the Social Security Administration (SSA), July 2025 is over and there are no more months to come.
The Social Security Administration has a strict payment schedule that stays the same from month to month, unless there are holidays or weekends.
All scheduled deposits for this month have already been made, which means that some people will have to wait until August to get their next payment.
The main victims are those who have already received their payments according to the usual schedule:
Retirees who are paid according to their date of birth.
People with Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries, particularly those who receive both benefits (retirement + SSI)
How does the SSA payment schedule work?
Retirement and SSDI beneficiaries:
Second Wednesday of the month: For those born from the 1st to the 10th.
Third Wednesday of the month: For those born between the 11th and 20th.
Fourth Wednesday of the month: For those born from the 21st to the 31st.
SSI beneficiaries:
They receive their payment on the first day of each month.
If they also receive retirement benefits, payment is made on the 3rd of the month.
In addition, if you started collecting your retirement before May 1997, your deposit also falls on the 3rd.
Social Security Payment 2025: When are the August deposits coming?
The last payment for the month was due on July 24, 2025. The next deposits will start on Thursday, August 1, and they will be for people who only get SSI. Next, people who get benefits more than once or who started getting them before 1997 will get their payments on August 3.
For other beneficiaries, the August 2025 schedule will be as follows:
Wednesday, August 14: Born between the 1st and 10th.
Wednesday, August 21: Born between the 11th and the 20th.
Wednesday, August 28: Born between the 21st and 31st.
How much can you receive in your next Social Security monthly payment?
This is the most that some people could get each month from the SSA in 2025, even though some people could get up to $5,108. Most people who are eligible get about $2,000 a month. To get to the top, you need to meet these conditions:
- Delay claiming benefits until age 70.
- Have paid contributions for at least 35 years.
- Have 40 registered work credits.
- Have paid Social Security taxes during your working career.
