'She actually came here to kill me': A woman walked sixteen miles to stab her father to death, according to police

A Wisconsin woman attempted to kill her father while hallucinating that he was the living embodiment of the devil, according to Badger State police.

Jamie Anderson, 34, faces one count of attempted intentional homicide in the first degree with a dangerous weapon. The charge includes a domestic abuse assessment, which is essentially equivalent to a minor sentencing enhancement.

The incident took place on July 1 at the father’s home on South Page Street in Stoughton, a small town about 20 miles southeast of Madison, according to the Stoughton Police Department.

Anderson is accused of walking 16 miles from her Madison apartment to her father’s home in the early hours of the morning.

Then came the ring on the doorbell.

When the defendant’s father finally awoke and answered the door, Anderson told him she wanted to stop hallucinating, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Madison-based CBS and MyNetworkTV affiliate WISC and ABC affiliate WKOW.

Anderson is then said to have asked her father for a hug. In response, her father stated that he asked her if she was using drugs.

According to the complaint, Anderson attempted to stab her father in the head after being asked that question. Multiple stabbing attempts allegedly ensued, some of which resulted in blood, according to police.

“I’m going to kill you,” the defendant allegedly said repeatedly.

As the scuffle continued inside, the two got into a fight.

The woman’s father told responding officers that he had to push his daughter over a coffee table to get to safety.

Officers discovered the man on his front stoop around 6 a.m., with blood on his left arm, the complaint states.

“She actually came here to kill me,” the man told police.

Anderson’s father told police that his daughter was still inside the house. The defendant was caught walking down a stairwell on the side of the house into an alleyway, knife in hand.

When asked to drop the orange-colored blade, the defendant immediately did so and was arrested without incident, according to police.

Anderson allegedly told police that she hallucinates and believes her father is the “devil.” She then allegedly admitted to cutting or slashing him approximately four times. The defendant allegedly admitted that she intended to kill him because she wanted him dead.

The attack left the woman’s father with serious injuries, including staples in his head and surgery on one arm.

In comments to police, he allegedly struck a conciliatory tone, saying the incident was “not her” and that her “mind is cooked” as a result of drug use.

Anderson first appeared in court on July 25, where her bond was set at $500,000, with a no-contact order in place for her father in the event she made bail, according to court records. She has been appointed a public defender and will next appear in court on August 5.

As of this writing, the defendant is in custody at the Dane County Jail.
