CASPER, Wyo. — South McKinley Street was temporarily closed Wednesday afternoon after officers responded to a reported stabbing.

Casper Police Department Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd told Oil City News that at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a knife assault on the 2500 block of South McKinley Street.

“Preliminary investigation indicates this was an isolated incident involving two adults known to each other,” Ladd told me. “The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim during the encounter.”

Ladd stated that the victim was transported for medical treatment and is currently being treated for their injuries.

The suspect is in police custody.

Officers will remain on the scene while the investigation continues. There is no threat to the general public, but residents should avoid the 2500 block of South McKinley for the time being.
