Tased, chained, and beaten: Arraignment provides new details in the Eagle kidnapping scheme

A 22-year-old Hagerman firefighter is still in Ada County custody after allegedly luring a man into the Eagle foothills, where prosecutors say he tased, tied up, and beat the victim with the help of an accomplice Thursday night.

Steen Lamb was arrested Friday and booked into the Ada County Jail, where he is currently being held on a $500,000 bond, as previously reported by Idaho News 6. A no-contact order was also issued to safeguard the victim.

Prosecutors in court on Monday provided additional information about the alleged kidnapping plot. The adult male victim appeared to believe that a photographer he met online would photograph him with his motorcycle.

“After taking one photo, the victim was tased in the back and fell to the ground,” prosecutors stated during Lamb’s Ada County arraignment. “Two individuals held him down on the ground, tying his hands behind his back and his legs together.”

Lawyers claim the suspects then dragged the victim away from his motorcycle, placed a bag over his entire body, and kicked and beat him repeatedly in the head and chest.

According to investigators, Lamb and the victim knew each other.

The victim reportedly told police that Lamb has admitted to murdering others in the past. When that was said in court, Lamb looked puzzled and silently disagreed.

Despite wearing a mask, the victim claimed to recognize Lamb’s voice and could see his face. He also told police that he could see through a crack and believed Lamb was pointing a gun at the victim’s chest.

Lamb was assigned a public defender at his arraignment on Monday, who stated that he has lived in Idaho for five years and has worked as a firefighter for the Hagerman Fire Department for the last six months.

He is scheduled to return to court on September 22 for a preliminary hearing.
