The $1.225 Million Dollar Ruby Buckle Barrel Race, Breakaway Roping & Stallion Owners Select Sale

Guthrie, OK – The $1.225 Million Dollar Ruby Buckle Barrel Race, Breakaway Roping & Stallion Owners Select Sale took place in Guthrie, OK on Aug 22-28, 2022 at the Lazy E Arena.

The stallion owners are the heart of the program and we feel the best way to showcase these world-class equine genetics is to offer competitors of all skill levels events with huge payouts in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Our races and ropings pay each ‘D’ equally. This stallion-based incentive is unique to the barrel racing industry because it relies on a nomination system to guarantee yearly race payouts. We publish our guaranteed payouts at the beginning of the year and each year, the growth is dependent on the amount of horses nominating to the program.

The Ruby Buckle events are open to anyone riding a horse sired by one of the 150 Ruby Buckle stallions. All horses need to be nominated (paid in) annually starting from the year of birth to remain eligible to compete for future years.

In 2022, the Ruby Buckle has 4 races paying out $2.7 million dollars!

Race and Breakaway earnings totals results include: Owner, Breeder & Stallion money paid (80%, 10%, 10%).
