A 32-year-old Texas woman who runs a day care from her home has been arrested after allegedly leaving five clients’ children in a hot parked car outside a grocery store while she went shopping, bringing her own two children inside with her.
Domonique L. Wilson was arrested last week and charged with five felony counts of child endangerment, according to court records obtained by Law&Crime.
According to state records from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, Wilson runs a day care called “My Little Angels” from her home in the 8100 block of Stone Street.
The establishment is licensed to serve infants, toddlers, and kindergarteners and can accommodate a maximum of three children at a time.
The state has conducted two inspections of the day care, the most recent in April 2025, and found no deficiencies. Records show that no complaints have been filed against the establishment.
According to court documents filed in Harris County District Court, Wilson drove to the Kroger in the 6300 block of Telephone Road in Houston, Texas, around 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, with five children she was charged with caring for, as well as her own two children.
The children allegedly left in the vehicle included a 10-month-old, a 1-year-old, a 2-year-old, a 6-year-old, and an 8-year-old.
According to authorities, Wilson “took her children into the store with her but left the 5 clients’ children in the car in 91 degree weather” where a witness allegedly found the children “in distress, red-faced, and crying.” The charging documents accuse her of “intentionally and knowingly” engaging in behavior that put the victims “in imminent danger of bodily injury and death.”
During Wilson’s initial court appearance on Monday, a judge stated that the witness discovered the children in the vehicle “with the window barely cracked and the car not running.”
“That is a very dangerous situation,” the judge stated in courtroom video obtained by Houston Fox affiliate KRIV.
A witness told Houston CBS affiliate KHOU that she saw the Kroger manager “running with two kids—one on her arm and another in a carrier.” The witness, who did not want to be recorded, stated that the manager was “running and screaming for the officer,” explaining that she had just discovered the two children in a hot car with no air conditioning.
In addition, the witness told the station that inside the store, Wilson claimed that the two children were hers and that the AC was turned on in the vehicle. However, the manager was reportedly adamant that the car was not running, and the children were visibly sweating and uncomfortable.
According to Houston ABC affiliate KTRK, the manager reviewed the store’s surveillance footage and discovered that the children had been in the car for slightly more than 40 minutes.
Wilson is being held at Harris County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court again on October 15, according to records.
