Rodeo Salinas is just wrapping up, and Cheyenne Frontier Days is in full swing. The two are currently making major headlines. However, many people are driving to Utah to visit two of the best attractions on the Wilderness Circuit.
Spanish Fork and Ogden are fantastic rodeos. They offer not only some of the best payouts, but also some of the best hospitality, atmosphere, and competition in the industry.
The drive from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Utah is one of the most boring in the country. On I-80, all you see is flat country. Nonetheless, these two rodeos are so good that contestants will make every effort to attend.
Spanish and Ogden both contribute nearly $400,000 for cowboys and cowgirls to earn a share of. Everyone who is trying to make the NFR, and many who are not, makes it a priority to visit both of these because they are only 87 miles apart.
Barrel racers especially enjoy Spanish Fork. The committee takes such good care of the ground that you cannot be slower than a 17.0 on a full standard pattern in order to receive a check, let alone win the rodeo.
Aside from barrel racing, both rodeos provide multiple opportunities for money in timed events. They have two rounds and an average, which equals three chances to win checks.
These committees provide exceptional hospitality to contestants. The Wilderness circuit makes you feel welcome because they feed you, provide stalls (and shavings), and their demeanor is simply unmatched. Spanish Fork even serves meals several times during the day.
With this much money up for grabs, plus the amount that gets put in the pot from entry fees, there is no chance that the standings won’t get shaken up from these two rodeos alone.
