As of 11 p.m., 33,000 customers remain without service, though 35,000 customers have had their power restored. The storm’s effects continue to be felt across the area, especially in the two hardest-hit counties, Anne Arundel and Prince George’s.
Earlier updates show that the number of affected customers was even higher:
9:41 p.m. Update: 43,000 customers without power, with 1,300 restoration jobs still ongoing. Over 25,000 customers have had their service restored so far.
7:30 p.m. Update: 51,000 customers were without power across the state, with efforts to restore service to affected areas underway.

The thunderstorms, which began impacting the region in the late afternoon, have brought heavy rain and strong wind gusts to several areas. Power outages have been widespread, with more than 1,300 restoration jobs reported, as local utility companies work to restore power as quickly as possible.
