TJ Maxx shoplifters who stole thousands of dollars in garments are nabbed at Wendy's drive-thru across the street

A pair of alleged shoplifters were apprehended shortly after stealing $2,000 in clothing from a TJ Maxx store in Massachusetts this week, while waiting in line at a nearby Wendy’s drive-thru.

Auburn police said they received a report around 2 p.m. Wednesday that two women had shoplifted at TJ Maxx. According to an employee, the suspects stole more than $2,000 in merchandise before fleeing in a black Ford Edge with Connecticut plates.

“Apparently satisfied with their five-finger discount, the two decided to celebrate with a pit stop at Wendy’s because nothing says perfect getaway plan like sitting in a drive-thru line for fast food… directly across the street from the store you just stole from,” according to a post on Facebook.

A police sergeant on the scene was able to locate the suspect vehicle in the drive-thru line.

“That was where the two women traded their combo meals for a pair of handcuffs,” police wrote in their post.

Police discovered over $2,000 in stolen TJ Maxx merchandise in plain sight inside the vehicle.

Dominique Marion, 38, of Worcester, and Tynaja Williams, 24, of New Haven, Connecticut, were arrested and charged with larceny over $1,200 and conspiracy.

While sorting through the stolen merchandise in the vehicle, police discovered a large number of additional items believed to have been stolen from other area stores, and they are now working with neighboring departments to return the property where it belongs. The two women may also face charges in those communities.
