The Tongue River Fire Department recently conducted an extraction training exercise with two vehicles provided by Ted’s Towing of Sheridan.
The hands-on training provided volunteer firefighters with the opportunity to practice critical rescue skills in a realistic setting, preparing them to respond effectively when time is critical.
During the exercise, volunteers practised stabilisation, tool use, and patient access techniques on donated vehicles.
These scenarios are critical in preparing firefighters for real-world emergencies like car accidents, where the ability to remove victims safely and quickly can mean the difference between life and death.
Tongue River Fire Chief Jeff Barron stated that the training is critical for their volunteers to be ready when the community needs them the most, and that community partnerships remain at the heart of the Tongue River Fire Department’s mission.
Support from local businesses such as Ted’s Towing ensures that volunteers have access to the resources they need to train effectively and continue providing high-quality emergency response to the community.
