The NCMEC website allows you to monitor missing children reports from your city or state. When a child’s poster is removed, it could mean that the case has been resolved or that the poster has been removed. When a child is listed, the investigative agency may have yet to add a poster.
The NCMEC is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that collaborates with families and law enforcement to locate missing children. The NCMEC operates a 24-hour Call Center, which can be reached at 1-800-843-5678. This organization also works to prevent kidnappings, locate missing children, and end child sexual exploitation.
Many people wonder why AMBER Alerts are not issued for all missing children. It’s because they’re only issued in the most serious child abduction cases.
