Four men were shot, two of whom died, during a violent seven-hour stretch in broad daylight in the Bronx on Tuesday, according to police.

The mayhem began around 8:10 a.m., when a 32-year-old man was shot in the back outside an apartment building on Anthony Avenue near Mount Hope Place, according to police.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and died from his injuries, according to authorities.

The motive for the fatal shooting is unknown.

The NYPD released surveillance footage hours later, showing the still-at-large suspect pacing around in the lobby with his hood pulled up over his head before vanishing from view.

He is described as being around 50 years old, with a dark complexion and medium build, and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and blue sneakers.

The violence continued around 1:10 p.m. outside a public housing building on Croes Avenue near Seward Avenue, which is part of NYCHA’s Sack Wern development, police said.

A 34-year-old man was shot once in the chest and rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was also pronounced dead, police said.

Two male suspects fled on foot, heading north along Croes Avenue.

One person was last seen wearing a black or gray hoodie, black pants, and black Jordan sneakers, according to police sources.

The second wore a gray hoodie, black pants, and a grey and red backpack with a shark mouth graphic on the bottom.

The motivation for the violence is unknown, but sources identified the victim as a gang member with nearly 40 arrests on his record.

Then, around 2:35 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in the ankle near East Tremont and Bryant avenues in the West Farms neighborhood, police said.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two male perpetrators fled the scene after the bullets flew, one wearing all black, cops and sources said.

About an hour later, around 3:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man was blasted multiple times in the leg on Adams Place near East 182nd Street in Belmont, authorities said.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was also listed in stable condition.

The suspect, who was last seen wearing a green hoodie and gray sweatpants, fled the scene, sources said.

The motives for the subsequent pair of shootings are also under investigation.

The flurry of gunfire comes after a violent weekend in the northernmost borough, including a wild Saturday shooting battle that left a 17-year-old girl, an innocent bystander, critically injured, killed a 32-year-old man, and injured three others inside Haffen Park, according to authorities.

In that case, two young men and two teen boys, aged 16 and 17, are charged with murder.

However, according to the most recent NYPD statistics, murders and shootings in the Bronx have decreased this year.

As of Sunday, 67 murders had been reported in the Bronx, representing a 15% decrease from the 79 recorded during the same period in 2024.

During the same period, 178 shootings with 215 victims were reported in the borough, down from 220 incidents with 281 victims the previous year, according to statistics.
