UPDATE According to Lima Police, a guy has been taken into custody in relation to the fatal shooting at a family get-together

UPDATE: Lima police arrested a person in connection with a fatal shooting at a family gathering Friday night.

Police executed a search warrant at a home on Flanders Avenue on Saturday afternoon. They claim to have arrested someone in connection with the homicide of Damariante Dillingham. This story is developing, and we will update it as more information is released.

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Lima Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at a party and killed one man. Damariante Dillingham, 30, died of a gunshot wound suffered in an incident in the 800 block of State Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday.

According to detectives, the shots were fired while a family gathering was taking place. Dillingham was taken to Saint Rita’s, where he died of his injuries.

Investigators interviewed several witnesses at the party and are still gathering information about what led up to the shooting.

On July 11, 2025, at around 7:40 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of State Street for a family gathering where shots were fired. Officers discovered Damariante Dillingham (age 30) suffering from a gunshot wound. Mr. Dillingham was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Detectives spoke with several witnesses at the scene and are still gathering information about what caused this incident.
