During September 2025, the state of California will keep the Family First Economic Support Pilot Program (FFESP) active, a guaranteed income initiative that awards $725 per month to selected families in Sacramento County.
This program aims to provide financial stability to households with young children, and the deposit for this month is scheduled for September 15, as per the schedule established in June.
Who qualifies for the payment?
The FFESP is aimed at 200 randomly selected families who meet certain criteria. Recipients must live in one of these zip codes: 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828, or 95838. Furthermore, they must have at least one child aged 0 to 5, live with the child at least 50% of the time, and have a household income less than 200% of the federal poverty line.
How are the monthly deposits made?
The $725 payments are made on the 15th of each month and delivered via direct deposit, Usio debit card, or bank accounts at SAFE Credit Union, whichever the recipient prefers. This program aims to simplify access to money, allowing families to cover essential expenses such as food, transportation, and basic necessities.
Program Duration and Upcoming Payments
The FFESP program began in June 2025 and will run until July 2026, with a total of twelve monthly payments. Beneficiaries received notifications between April and May, and the first deposit was made on June 15. The September payment will be the fourth in the series, and it is expected to continue as the program’s impact is assessed.
Objective of the FFESP: more than a stimulus
In addition to financial assistance, the FFESP works to strengthen families by connecting them with social organizations, offering financial advice, and encouraging participation in community groups.
The program’s comprehensive approach aims to build a long-term support network that will help beneficiaries improve their quality of life.
Financial relief for those who need it most
In California, the $725 stimulus payment provides significant assistance to families with young children who are facing economic challenges. With scheduled monthly deposits and clear eligibility criteria, the FFESP is proving to be a valuable tool for providing stability and hope to those in greatest need.
