Wisconsin Weather Alert Flash Flood Warnings in Ashland, Solon Springs, Hayward Until Late Tuesday

Duluth, MN – Torrential evening rains are triggering flash flood warnings across northwest Wisconsin, with Ashland and Solon Springs at the highest risk for overnight flooding.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, both Flood Advisories and Flash Flood Warnings were issued as of 6 p.m. Tuesday for Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland, and Sawyer counties. Rainfall rates in this region are higher than along the North Shore or Twin Ports. Additional flood alerts are expected as storms continue into the night.

Areas Affected and Safety Precautions

Ashland and surrounding areas, such as Hayward and Port Wing, may see dangerous flash flooding on low-lying roads, especially along Highway 2 and other rural routes. Authorities urge drivers to avoid all water-covered roads, stressing: “Turn around, don’t drown.” Flash flooding is harder to detect at night, increasing the threat level for both drivers and emergency responders.

Communities near Solon Springs, Moose Lake, and Siren should prepare for possible street and basement flooding. Residents are advised to charge mobile devices, secure outdoor items, and stay updated via NOAA Weather Radio or local alerts.

Flood Warning Details

Flood warnings remain in effect through Tuesday night and may be extended into Wednesday morning if conditions worsen. Stay tuned to local updates and be prepared to take action if additional warnings are issued.
