According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Tamminga, the fatal crash occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on 104th Avenue near Stanton Street, northwest of Zeeland. The man was driving a sedan northbound when his vehicle veered off the road to the left, plunged into a ditch, struck a utility pole, and overturned. He was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s name, and further details surrounding the circumstances of the crash have not been disclosed.
