by GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man is dead following an early morning shooting in Grand Rapids’ Eastown neighborhood, and the Grand Rapids Police Department is actively investigating.
The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. Friday on Wealthy Street SE, near the intersection with Lake Drive. According to police, the gunfire happened outside. The victim was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
At this time, authorities have not released any details about a suspect or motive.
While the incident happened in Michigan, law enforcement in neighboring states, including Wyoming, are keeping a close eye on developments in case any suspects attempt to cross state lines.
