WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A second man has pleaded guilty in connection to a fight that broke out at an all-ages nightclub in Wilkes-Barre, an incident now drawing attention from public safety officials as far as Wyoming, where concerns over similar disturbances have been rising.
Michael P. Frazier, 23, of Nanticoke, entered a guilty plea Wednesday to a non-criminal summary charge of disorderly conduct during a preliminary hearing at Luzerne County Central Court.
Frazier and Martin Dartoe, 36, of Wilkes-Barre, were both charged by local police following a February 7 altercation at The Mines Nightclub on North Main Street. According to court records, officers arrived on the scene to find Dartoe dragging Frazier by the hair.
Dartoe reportedly told police he stepped in to break up a larger fight involving multiple people but ended up defending himself when Frazier allegedly attacked him. Dartoe pleaded guilty to the same summary offense on April 2.
The case highlights growing concerns about nightclub violence—concerns shared by law enforcement across the country, including in Wyoming, where similar incidents have sparked calls for enhanced security at public venues.
