MT. MORRIS, N.Y. — A 22-year-old Wyoming County resident is facing felony charges after allegedly violating an active order of protection in the Village of Mt. Morris on May 19.
Deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home around 5:12 p.m. following a report of a possible protection order violation.
According to authorities, Emerhre May of Perry, Wyoming County, is accused of confronting a protected individual and issuing direct threats, despite a full stay-away order of protection being in place.
Deputy Vincent Molisani arrested May, who now faces charges of first-degree criminal contempt (a felony) and second-degree harassment.
After being processed at the Livingston County Jail, May was arraigned before Mt. Morris Justice Finnigan at the Centralized Arraignment Part. While the District Attorney’s Office recommended bail be set at $1,000 cash or $5,000 bond, the judge reduced it to $500 cash or $2,500 bond.
May was remanded to the Sheriff’s custody. He is being represented by the Livingston County Public Defender’s Office.
The New York State Police also assisted in the investigation.
