COVINGTON, N.Y. — A Wyoming County jury has found 39-year-old Justin Tilton guilty of first-degree rape after a three-day trial, according to the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office.
Tilton was convicted of forcibly raping a 22-year-old woman on or around May 13, 2024, in the Town of Covington, a rural community in Wyoming County, New York.
Following the verdict, the presiding judge immediately revoked Tilton’s bail and ordered that he be held without bail pending sentencing.
Tilton now faces a potential prison sentence of five to 25 years, along with an additional five to 20 years of post-release supervision. He will also be required to register as a sex offender under New York State law.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 17.
