Wyoming Man Charged After Woman’s Body Discovered on Abandoned Jordan Property

Authorities say they’ve arrested the man suspected of fatally shooting a woman and leaving her body at an abandoned property in Jordan, Minnesota—a case that has sent shockwaves far beyond the Twin Cities, including to those who knew her in Wyoming.

The Jordan Police Department announced Friday that a 41-year-old man, already in custody in Le Sueur County on unrelated charges, will be transferred to the Scott County Jail. He now faces a second-degree murder charge in connection to the January killing.

The victim, 46-year-old Tabitha Renee Justice, was discovered on Jan. 28 with a gunshot wound to the head at 230 Quaker Avenue—an abandoned property linked to Bobby & Steve’s Auto World, according to Scott County court documents. The company confirmed the site was being rented out at the time.

Justice, originally from Florida, had relocated to Minnesota to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Her death deeply affected friends across state lines, including those in Wyoming who followed the case closely.

“I just know that here in Florida—and all the way in places like Wyoming—our friends are praying for justice for Tabitha,” said Ashlei Lambert, who had been close friends with Justice for over a decade. “Hearing she was shot in the head and left like trash is beyond disturbing.”

Justice had been reported missing just hours before her body was found. Friends said they had been searching for her since before Christmas.

Jordan, where her body was discovered, is located about 35 miles southwest of Minneapolis. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death remains ongoing.
