WALKER, MI — Nestled in West Michigan, Lost Art Brewhouse is taking its craft beer experience to the next level. Located at 3393 Remembrance Rd. NW in Walker, this small-batch artisan brewery recently unveiled a full-service kitchen, serving up delicious chili dogs, smash burgers, and rotating monthly culinary specials.
Founded in 2020 by Brad Lawrence and Mike Smith during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lost Art Brewhouse started as a humble dream. Both founders grew up just blocks from the brewery’s current location and envisioned it as a vibrant community hub on the west side of Wyoming, Michigan.
“The West Side picks you up, embraces you, and really loves to have community centers,” Lawrence said. “We knew from the start we wanted to build something here that truly belonged to the neighborhood. What began as a small corner bar with cans to go has grown at breakneck speed.”
Throughout the pandemic, Lawrence and Smith witnessed the resilience and support of their community firsthand. “Each year, we strive to step up for our community and improve the experience for every customer,” Lawrence added.
That commitment sparked the idea to add a food counter and kitchen to the brewery’s offerings. Enter co-owner Austin Sylvester, who transitioned from a regular patron to the creative force behind Lost Art’s kitchen. He recalls cozying up with his wife under an outdoor heater during those early pandemic days.

“All three of us are driven and not afraid to take on challenges,” Sylvester said. “We’re always chasing excellence.”
Lawrence agrees. “Whether it’s our beer, the food, or the overall experience, every improvement helps us check off more boxes on our goal to provide the best.”
The kitchen’s star attraction is the chili dog, but longtime visitors might recognize favorites from the brewery’s previous food truck days, like the smash burgers. The menu also features a rotating monthly culinary creation, showcasing unique dishes like family recipe wet burritos or a “smashburger crunchwrap.”
Here’s a taste of the menu highlights:
- Brewhouse Dog ($4.50): Topped with chili, ketchup, mustard, shredded pickle, and onion.
- BBQ Dog ($4.50): Chili, smokehouse BBQ bacon sauce, diced bacon, and onion.
- Smash Burgers ($8 single, $11 double, $14 triple):
- LAB Original: Beef tri-blend patty, American cheese, pickle, grilled onion, choice of sauce.
- Frankenstein: Beef tri-blend patty, kielbasa patty, Swiss cheese, pickle, grilled onion, choice of sauce.
- Olive: Beef tri-blend patty, Swiss cheese, grilled onion, olive aioli, diced green olives.
- Other menu items include a chicken sandwich, loaded smash fries, and a burger-and-fries combo known as the “best of both worlds.”

At its core, Lost Art remains true to its small-batch beer roots. Fan favorites like Uno Mas, a crisp Mexican lager, and Dune Climber, a hazy IPA, have become staples among beer lovers across Wyoming and beyond.
The brewery also engages its community through events like the “Battle of the Brews,” where staff members create their own beers and compete in a bracket-style tournament. Customers sample the brews over three weeks and vote for their favorites. The final round pits the top employee brewer against one of the founders, adding excitement to the friendly competition.
Lost Art Brewhouse is open Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 3 p.m. The brewery is closed on Mondays.
