Wyoming Woman Injured in Allendale Crash; Driver Arrested at Scene

ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A violent late-night crash in Allendale on Monday left a woman seriously injured and led to the arrest of a 25-year-old driver.

The crash occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Lake Michigan Drive, just east of 68th Avenue, directly in front of the Allendale Township Fire Station. According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, a nearby deputy heard the collision and immediately alerted dispatch.

Witnesses reported that a Honda Civic was speeding eastbound when the driver lost control, struck a curb, and slammed into a power pole. The impact was so severe that the car split in two.

The passenger, a 25-year-old woman from Grand Rapids with ties to Wyoming, Michigan, suffered serious facial injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The driver, also from Grand Rapids and the same age, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities arrested him at the scene, although the exact charges have not yet been disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
