In September, thousands of Alaskans will receive a direct payment as part of the state’s unique Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program, which aims to share the state’s oil and mineral wealth with its residents. The program’s goal is to ensure that Alaskans benefit directly from the natural resources on their territory.
This year’s dividend is set at $1,702 per eligible person, a figure determined annually based on the state fund’s investment performance and budgetary considerations. To receive this benefit, you must meet a number of eligibility requirements set by the Alaska Department of Revenue.
